Tide bell - Tania kovats

Visual artist Tania Kovats worked with the traveling foundry Ore + Ingot to cast a bronze bell at the autumn equinox on Porthcurno beach in Cornwall, close to Land’s End. This tidal bell has made the journey from Cornwall, where the tide splits and starts its journey around the UK, to Somerset House on The Thames, where the tides meet.

The casting was accompanied by the storytelling of Nick Hunt.

This was for an exhibition at Somerset House with the National Trust to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Neptune project.
